On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the LA Rebellion, my youth program, SESSIONS LA is releasing the MY LA theme song. MY LA is the multi-media theatre production by the Heart & Soul Arts Collective at Inner-City Arts which portrays a vignette of LA from the perspective of its diverse youth residents. Sessions LA provided several music pieces for the show including this theme song, which closes out the show in a grand finale.
MY LA is features Sessions LA emcees Tripz, Samuel Hernandez, & RemGee. The music was produced by RemGee.
Please help support keeping music and art alive for our youth: donate what you can to download the track. If you don’t have any spare funds, you can download it for free by naming the price of “$0″.

MORE INFO ABOUT SESSIONS LA + SAVE SESSIONS:
SESSIONS LA is a music writing, production, recording, & DJ program for youth and young adults in Los Angeles. Our mission is to promote youth development and nurture critical thinking through unique music education programming developed by a group of experienced DJs, Producers, and Music Educators. For more info on the program, visit our website: www.sessionsla.com
Due to the recession and acts of nature beyond our control, we have no more funding to continue the amazing work that we offer to the Los Angeles youth. Therefore we have launched the SAVE SESSIONS fundraising campaign so that YOU, the community, can help us survive through this drought while we continue to search for philanthropic support. You can donate online via our IndieGoGo: www.indiegogo.com/savesessions OR come to this concert!

Sometime late in June of 2011, I received an email from a USC film student named Faroukh Virani. He was a part special course called the Global Exchange Workshop where 7 USC film students were paired with 7 students the Communications University of China in Beijing. Him and his partner, Bobbi Dai, were interested in making a short documentary addressing issues of race and identity in Asian American Hip Hop. Their plan was to interview as many Asian Americans involved with Hip Hop as possible. Long story short, they ended up focusing the documentary on me and my passions as a DJ & educator. I am really happy with the outcome as it gives me a chance to rave about being Chinese American, about being a Chinese American DJ, & about why I’ve chosen education as my main priority in life.
Our youth program, SESSIONS LA, is featured in this video alot…we are trying to save it right now. If you like what I do with the youth, please please please donate to our SAVE SESSIONS IndieGoGo campaign:

THE FIND MAG in conjunction with THE SOUL DOJO have put out the mix that I did for dope producer, homie, & SESSIONS LA instructor TREBLES & BLUES.
LISTEN & DOWNLOAD: Trebles & Blues – Eight Notes Mix
If you are an emcee, singer, poet, etc. and you like what you hear, Trebles & Blues will make a custom beat for you if you donate $500 to our SAVE SESSIONS INDIEGOGO campaign. Save a youth program AND get beautiful music, that’s a win-win!
As of October 1st 2011, Sessions LA has no more funding. Sessions LA is the youth music program that I help coordinate & instruct.
Due to the recession and acts of nature beyond our control, we have not yet been able to receive any new grants from public or private funders to continue the amazing work that we offer to the Los Angeles youth. Therefore we need YOU, the community, to help us survive through this drought while we continue to search for philanthropic support.
Please donate to our SAVE SESSIONS IndieGoGo Campaign. Any amount helps! There are many levels of sponsorship, which come with, what we hope are, worthwhile incentives.
