Back in the day, I was a SHENG WANG wannabe. In eighth grade, he had long bleached bangs, so I got long bleached bangs. He was into The Cure. I got into The Cure. He went to UC Berkeley, I went to UC Berkeley. He joined Theatre Rice, I joined Theatre Rice. He made an Asian American documentary, I made an Asian American documentary. That’s where it ends. He became a standup comic, I became a DJ.
Now, as my dj career amounts to little more than this, Sheng is poised to be one of America’s funniest and most original comics, much less one of THE funniest Asian Americans.

Sheng moved to LA, I moved to LA. But…he’s never here cuz he tours so much. Find out if he’s performing in your area at his MYSPACE.

This is week is crazy. On top of 8-hour recording sessions for the Pretty Buoyant Society project with Drizzle, who’s in town specifically for the aforementioned activity, I have 3 gigs on Saturday! Too bad one of them isn’t djing the Pacquiao-De La Hoya fight…

2008 JUST HOLIDAY MARKET PLACE | SAJE
SAJE (Strategic Actions For A Just Economy) hosts an annual market place which gathers amazing local independent artists, vendors, and musicians in one giant orgy of just consumerism! Come buy all your holiday gifts here, guilt free! The homie/roomie Arte.Amuki will be selling her jewelery there, including these earrings:
Oh, and I’ll be there dropping the Erykah vs. Jill set for LA! (The Devil’s Pie mix will be up for download soon, I promise!)
SKETCHCOMEDYSHOW.COM | KIWA CULTURAL CENTER
Please come out to the final show of the year for Projekt NewSpeak, a sketch comedy troupe started by Theatre Rice alumni. Theatre Rice is the Asian American comedy/theatre troupe at UC Berkeley, which I’m proud to say that I was a part of. It’s the source of some of my fondest college memories: The OOOO (Oriental Organization Of Orientals) Skit, skinny dipping in Santa Cruz, and playing a mentally disabled penguin lover.
BAMBU & DJ PHATRICK @ BRIDGES | THE DERBY
What better way to celebrate the PACQUIAO WIN (yea i said it…sorry my latino family) than watching me and Bambu rock a set at Bridges?!
