If you were born in the 70s, there’s a good chance the Black Moses shepherded your creation with his music. His whole discography (pre-disco) is one continuous epic Fuck Song.

This cover of the song made famous by The Carpenters fits more for the post-coitus-cuddling-cupcaking stage, but it’s one of my favorite Isaac Hayes joints.

The Good:
1. Having a beautiful weekend in the beautiful Bay Area with the beautiful Scariaga.
2. Celebrating the union of 2 amazing artists/revolutionaries/educators, Colin & Emalyn:
The Bad:
1. Getting a speeding ticket on the Bay Bridge. I was following traffic, but the only one caught.
2. Getting my car stereo jacked. again. Acura Integras like mine have a major design flaw where the windows sit on top of the door seal, not wedged into it, which makes it the 2nd most jacked vehicle in the U.S. At least my windows weren’t smashed. Gotta look at the unburnt side of the toast, yaoming?
The Ugly:
Losing two legends.
Rest in Peace Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes.
